Care Home Monitoring

In response to members concerns, about standards in residential care for older residents of Sutton, LINk began a programme of bi monthly care home visits in January 2012.

Announced visits to care homes will be carried out according to a protocol agreed with The London Borough of Sutton.

Authorised volunteers visit selected care homes to observe, obtain feedback, assess standards of care, highlight areas of good practice and make recommendations for change or improvement. After forwarding reports to the care provider for accuracy, the final LINk report is published and copies forwarded to the care provider for comment, Adult Social Services commissioning officer and to the Care Quality Commission.

The LINk report and providers response is fed back to the member’s Health and Wellbeing working Group for information and input into deciding if any further action is required.
